Our vision
The Diabetes Research Foundation of WA's (DRFWA) vision is to find a cure for diabetes.
Our mission
The DRFWA supports research into the:
- causes of diabetes
- complications of diabetes
- cure of diabetes
The objects of the DRFWA are to:
- support financially research work relating to diabetes and the prevention, control or cure of that disease
- found, encourage or contribute to scholarships, fellowships or travel grants for the purpose of promoting research into diabetes
- raise funds for the purpose of supporting research into diabetes
DRFWA has funded research projects into diabetes since 1978. Through the efforts of a dedicated team and many supporters a Centre for Diabetes Research was established in 2005. Since that time the Centre has grown exponentially and now houses many researchers conducting world-class research alongside the director, Professor Grant Morahan.
The DRFWA continues to fund research into all aspects of diabetes including the many complications from diabetes and ways in which to improve the quality of life for those living with diabetes.
