Workplace Giving Month - June 2012
What is Workplace Giving?
Workplace giving allows employees to make regular charitable donations from their pre-tax pay through their employer's payroll system.
Convenient, workplace giving eliminates the need for employees to collect receipts or wait until the end of the year to claim a tax refund.
Cost effective, giving from pre-tax income means donations cost employees less, while charities like the DRFWA receive the full benefit of their donation and avoid high fundraising costs.
Collaborative, workplace giving is unique in its ability to bring together employees, employers and the charities they choose to support. When employees and employers combine their donations, wokplace giving is living proof that small change can make a big difference and deliver significant benefits to the community through the collective impact of their donations.
Here are some of the research projects we have been able to support from our generous supporters.
How do I register for Workplace Giving?
Firstly, check if your workplace has an established Workplace Giving Program. If they haven’t you will need to obtain up-to-date information from the Australian Taxation Office so that your workplace complies with government rulings.
Once this is in place your workplace will take care of managing the Workplace Giving Program. Please notify us so that we can thank you personally.
If your workplace has an established Workplace Giving program, the process is easy!
Step 1: Check that the DRF is an included beneficiary and decide how much you would like to donate
Step 2: Obtain the Workplace Giving Payroll Deduction Advice from your employer and fill it in
Step 3: Give the completed form to your payroll department
Step 4: Send a copy of the form to us via email or to GPO Box X2213, PERTH WA 6847
Please contact us if you would like some-one to meet with your workplace to assist. Yuo can also download a peaflet here
Thank you for your support, we could not continue without it!!! |
